Free, Local Resources Help Find Care for Aging Parents

April 15, 2010

During your search for elder care, have you contacted an Area Agency on Aging? The Transition Aging Parents blog features a glowing explanation about these organizations.

There are 650 of them across the United States, says the blog. They help you find resources and care. According to the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging Web site:

AAAs were established under the Older Americans Act (OAA) in 1973 to respond to the needs of Americans 60 and over in every local community. By providing a range of options that allow older adults to choose the home and community-based services and living arrangements that suit them best, AAAs make it possible for older adults to remain in their homes and communities as long as possible.

Transition Aging Parents offers information about how to find your local agency. We also offer search engines and articles to aid you in your search for care.
