Which Medicare Services Are Free? Where to Find Out

Despite the fact that some Medicare services are now free, seniors haven’t been flocking to their doctors, report Kaiser Health News and The Washington Post. “Advocates say details about the new benefits haven’t reached enough seniors,” the article says, “and Medicare’s information about it isn’t easily accessible and can be confusing.”

A list of which preventive services are now free and other information are included in the “Medicare & You” handbook (available at www.medicare.gov or at 800-MEDICARE), the user’s manual sent to all 48 million Medicare beneficiaries.

    Proper dissemination of information is what’s lacking there. I hope the ones in authority does something about that so our seniors can enjoy this service.
